Reading the monthly summary

Each row is a store: how many orders the warehouse prepared, at what price, the subtotal,
0:14
any adjustments you've entered, and the total.
0:18
This red chip says there are 37 orders that were prepared when the store didn't have a price yet.
0:23
They're counted, but not priced.
0:25
You tap the chip, set the price effective from the date of the oldest order,
0:30
and recalculating prices them.
0:32
These eighteen were prepared last month but recorded late.
0:36
Instead of being lost, this closing picks them up.
0:39
That's why the total can include orders from another month, and that's fine.
0:44
When the column says Varies, it's because more than one price was in force during the month.
0:49
The system doesn't pick one:
0:51
it tells you. The subtotal is right, though
0:54
— each order was calculated with the price of its own day.
0:58
Recalculate re-scans the month looking for prepared orders that don't have a charge yet,
1:03
and prices the ones that accrued without a rate.
1:06
The system explains it beforehand, and tells you the important part:
1:11
it's safe, it won't duplicate anything, and you can run it as many times as you want.
1:17
Export builds the summary in Excel, with the amounts as numbers so you can add them up and audit them.
1:23
It doesn't download right away:
1:24
it stays in progress and notifies you when it's ready.
1:28
And from a store's detail you request its spreadsheet,
1:31
which is the backup you send when they push back.
Did you get it?
In the summary, what tells an open period from a closed one?
The open one is an estimate recalculated live; the closed one is frozen
The open one shows no totals until it's closed
The closed one keeps updating with new orders
