How free wave creation works

• 0:09Free picking lets each picker build their own wave:
• 0:11they choose the orders they're going to prepare and get started,
• 0:15without waiting for a supervisor to assign them.
• 0:18Let's look first at how it's turned on, and then at what the picker can do.
• 0:23It's enabled per depot. On the Depots screen,
• 0:25open the depot's menu and go into Picking settings.
• 0:30Find the free picking option and turn it on.
• 0:33That's all it takes: there's no new permission or role to assign.
• 0:37While it's off, nothing changes for your pickers.
• 0:40On the picker's side, a new entry appears in My Task:
• 0:44"View depot orders". Unlike label scanning,
• 0:47this button stays available even with a task in progress,
• 0:51because the board is also there to see how the work is going.
• 0:55The board has three tabs.
• 0:57Pending holds the orders that can be taken.
• 1:00Each card shows the order, the store, the recipient, how many items it has,
• 1:04and when it came in — date and time, because two orders from the same day can have been waiting hours apart.
• 1:12In progress shows what's already been taken, with the name of whoever is preparing it,
• 1:17or "Not taken" if nobody has picked up the wave yet.
• 1:21It keeps teammates from stepping on each other.
• 1:24Finished holds what was prepared in the last twenty-four hours, with no cutoff at midnight.
• 1:30There's a search box at the top:
• 1:32type the order number or the recipient's name and the list narrows down.
• 1:37And next to it, the filters:
• 1:38by order source and by creation date.
• 1:40The funnel shows a number when filters are applied, so you don't forget the list is trimmed.
• 1:47If you want to see what's in an order before deciding, tap the card:
• 1:51it opens the same detail the supervisor uses, with the products,
• 1:55the delivery address and the status history.
• 1:58To build your wave, press and hold the first order.
• 2:01That gesture switches on selection mode:
• 2:04the checkboxes appear, and the bar with the counter shows up at the bottom.
• 2:08Picking the first one ties the wave to that store.
• 2:11Notice the order from the other store is now disabled, with the reason written underneath:
• 2:17a wave groups orders from a single store.
• 2:20The same goes for orders with a shortage when the depot doesn't allow them
• 2:24— they aren't hidden, they're greyed out with the reason.
• 2:28With the checkboxes visible, you add the other orders by tapping them.
• 2:33The bottom shows how many you've got.
• 2:35And if you want to review one before deciding, tap the row:
• 2:39the detail opens without losing your selection.
• 2:42Once you have them all, tap Build my wave.
• 2:45In a single step the wave is created, released and assigned to you:
• 2:49the screen takes you straight to your task and you can start picking.
• 2:55If you picked the wrong ones, as long as you haven't picked anything yet you can cancel your own wave from here:
• 3:01the orders go back to being available for you or for any teammate.
• 3:05Once you start lifting products, fixing it becomes the supervisor's job.
• 3:10On the supervisor's side nothing changes from what they already knew:
• 3:14these waves show up in their list like any other, with who built it and its full history,
• 3:20and they can reassign or cancel them just like always.
